About Tignes

The town of Tignes is comprised of a number of smaller residences including Tignes Le Lac and Tignes Val Claret. Tignes is part of the Espace Killy ski area which is one of the largest ski areas in the world covering over 300km of pisted slopes suitable for both novice and experienced skiers and boarders alike.

The Espace Killy resort is also linked with the world famous resort of Val dIsere which is only a couple of ski lifts away from the centre of Tignes Val Claret.

The ski lifts themselves have been recently developed, with the Espace Killy resort benefiting from millions of Euros worth of investment, making it one of the premier resorts in the Alps. Nearly all lifts have been replaced to ensure fast, efficient access to all parts of the resort, with most chairlifts capable of carrying 6-8 people at a time. The resort has 113 snow cannons which produce 450,000m2 of artificial snow each year ensuring pisted slopes are available throughout the whole season.

The Espace Killy resort is also renowned throughout the world for having some of the best off-piste areas in the world, with hundreds of guides to show experienced skiers and snow boarders some of the best powder runs in the world.

The Grande Motte glacier at the top of the valley also allows for some superb skiing, although it is closed for a couple weeks each year due to the glacier receding over the past few years.

Numerous mountain restaurants and bars are located throughout the resort suitable for all ages, from quaint restaurants overlooking Tignes to packed bars offering younger crowds the chance to dance the afternoon away with a well deserved vin chaud after a full day of skiing!

Golf du Pont Royal

Opened in 1992, the Pont Royal country club was designed by Severiano Ballesteros, winner of five major golf championships. Constructed on 47 hectares the 18 hole golf course offers a variety of challenges for the advanced and amateur golfer alike. Integrated perfectly into the local commune, it allows you to practice golf in any season under conditions developed with a technical and professional eye for detail.

Although the project was completed in 1992, the Clubhouse did not open until 2002. The golf course starts at the foot of the clubhouse with a short par 4, whose green is tucked away in the pine trees down the main plateau.

In the parks tree-filled landscape, the following 4 holes are set out ingeniously in a wide corridor where a winding stream runs. The only upward climb is to the 6th hole tee, which kicks off a series of holes offering 360° panoramic views over the village of Mallemort perched on its rocky spur to the north, Durance Valley, the soft curves of the "Luberon", and the "Chaine de la Trevaresse" mountain chain heading towards Aix en Provence.

The 9th hole unrolls calmly over 500 metres to the foot of the pyramid shaped Pont Royal village. After a 4 hole loop, including one long par 3 crossing an impressive ravine, the last five holes slip by in the shade of a pine forest to finish opposite the club terrace. Both tactical and amusing, Pont Royal golf course requires good golfing sense.

Pont Royal Golf Course has wide fairways, broad, sloping greens, and a good variety of decors and shots, interspersed regularly with pretty much hazard free water.

Area

Just outside the village of Mallemort-en-Provence, Pont Royal benefits from a prime location, within easy reach of popular and traditional towns such as St Remy de Provence, Avignon and Aix en Provence. The Alpilles dominate over the beautiful landscape which shapes the horizon in this part of France, and the Luberon is a much desired area, famous in the works of author Peter Mayle and artists such as Cézanne, with many quaint villages to explore.

In terms of access, the Marseille-Provence airport, the TGV high speed trains and access to the A7 motorway make this a well serviced location easily reached by international visitors.

Due to the incredible low entry prices as well as the fantastic rental potential expected on these properties, we are expecting a high volume of enquiries. Please call now to receive further information regarding this exclusive golfing development in the heart of Provence
